1.When where you born?  1960

2.What does the cold war mean to you?  Dark days

3.When you where a child, did you hear people talking about nuclear weapons?   NO

4.Did you understand who the enemy was?   YES

5.How was the enemy typically portrayed in your society?   Not good people

6.Did your school have air-raid drills during this era?  Yes

7.What were some of the procedures?   Hid under the desk  =)

8.When you were younger, did you ever hear about or see a bomb shelter?   Yes

9.What supplies did people put in bomb shelters and why?  Water and caned food because you are probably going to be in there for a while.

10.What feelings did you have about these bomb shelters?   looks ugly and scary.

11. Were you ever afraid of nuclear weapons?   NO

12. Describe someone you admired during this time period?   My mom and dad

13.What do you remember watching on television or hearing on the radio?   The Vietnam war

Warsaw Pact


The Warsaw pack was in Warsaw. It was a mutual defense treaty between eight communist states of Eastern Europe in existence during the cold war. This treaty was created under initiative of soviet Union and it was signed on may 14, 1955 in Warsaw. The Warsaw pact was the military complement to the council for mutual economic assistance. The pact was a soviet military response to the integration of west Germany into NATO in1955.

Cuban Revolution

T he Cuban revolution was in Cuba. It was an armed revolt by Fider Castro's 26th of July movement against the regime of the Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista between 1953 and 1959. Batista was finally ousted on and was replaced by Castro's revolutionary government. This government later reformed along communist lines becoming the present communist party of Cuba in October of 1965.


Iron Curtain


The Iron Curtain Symbolized the ideological fighting and physical boundary dividing Europe into two parts from the end of WWII in 1945 until the end of the cold war. Both sides developed their own international economic and military alliances. Physically, the iron curtain took the shape of border defences. Most notable border was marked by the Berlin wall  served as a symbol of the curtain as a whole. Events that demolished the Iron curtain started in discontent in Poland. Romania was the only country in Europe to violently overthrow its communist regime.

Chinese Civil War


Who? Republic of china, communist of china
Where? "China"
The Chinese civil war was fought between Kuomintang and communist party of china. Both sides wanted one thing, To control china. This led to China's division into two, China's Republic of China and peoples Republic of china in mainland. The war began in April of 1927 and ended when major active battles ceased in 1949-1950.There is still debate on weather the war has officially ended or not. The conflict continues in the form of military threats. This war was the 3rd largest war ever fought in history, behind WWI and WWII.

Korean War

Who?- North Korea, South Korea, America, soviet union.
Where?-  "KOREA"
The Korean war was between Republic of Korea and democratic people of Korea. Republic was in the South and Democratic was in the North. North Korea forced invaded south Korea on June 25, 1950. United nations called aid to help south Korea. The first week North Korea advanced rapidly. United Nations landed at Inch eon and North Korea fell back and Mac Arther followed them back in to North Korea. After months of heavy fighting the conflict returned to the 38th Parallel for the rest of the war. A armistice agreement was signed on July 27, 1953.
